Mr Mriganka De is a consultant ENT surgeon with special interest in head and neck and thyroid surgery. This includes thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery, head & neck surgery, transoral robotic surgery , transoral laser surgery, TNO, sinus surgery and routine ENT surgery.
Mr De was trained in South Wales, followed by higher surgical specialist training in ENT and head and neck surgery in the West Midlands Rotation. He then continued to undergo fellowship training in head and neck surgery (Glasgow and Amsterdam). He is one of the few head and neck surgeons with expertise in transoral robotic surgery and transoral laser microsurgery in the country. He specialises in complex swallowing disorders and runs a tertiary transnasal esophagoscopy clinic in the NHS.
Currently, Mr De practices at BMI The Priory Hospital in Birmingham, BMI The Edgbaston Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Solihull Hospital).
He has participated in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the British Association of Head & Neck Oncologists and the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers, 9 book chapters and participated in multiple international, national and regional conferences as faculty member. He is an organiser and faculty member of Midlands Laryngeal Surgery Course and Transnasal Esophagoscopy Course. The courses have been run on a yearly basis from Royal Derby Hospital.
